Drogheda is situated only 28 miles from Dublin and is known as the "Gateway to the Boyne Valley.The town is situated in an area with an abundance of archaeological monuments dating from the Neolithic period onwards, of which the large Passage Tombs of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth are probably the best known.

Other attractions and activities range from golfing, walking, fishing, cycling and many other water-based activities to history and heritage, gardens and nature or arts, culture & festivals.
